The temperatures outside are downright cold! One thing we get calls about is water restoration due to burst pipes. We sincerely hope this doesn't happen to you, however, if it does we will be there in a jiffy to help with clean up. We serve Wichita, Goddard, Bel Aire, Maize, Andover, Derby and other surrounding areas in Kansas. In these situations, time is of the essence, so call us immediately on our emergency line at 316-312-0117. One of Snow White’s trained, certified technicians will be on their way to deal with your flooded area or water damage restoration. IF AT ANY TIME YOU DO NOT FEEL SAFE, LEAVE THE FLOODED AREA OR HOME IMMEDIATELY!

After you call us, there are a few things you can do to help diminish the damage.

  • Try to locate the valve to stop the water flow from the area that is leaking and turn it off. You may need to find the main valve and shut down water for the whole home.
  • If it’s safe, try to find the circuit breakers sending electricity to the wet areas and turn them off, then remove electrical devices from wet areas.
  • If possible, avoid walking on areas affected, as it can cause more damage. It is helpful to remove furniture if you're able. If moving things isn't an option, place aluminum foil under legs of tables, chairs, couches, etc. in order to avoid rust stains.
  • Pin up anything hanging near the wet floors, including furniture skirts and draperies.
  • Remove as many high-value, breakable or moisture-sensitive belongings as possible and anything that can stain the floors. Things to look for are fabric, paper goods, shoes, and even potted plants. Be sure to look under furniture and beds.
  • Remember, these are CONTAMINATED areas. Wash your hands often and use gloves if possible.
  • DO NOT use a shop-vac or home vacuum for water removal because it can be an electrical shock hazard.
  • Do not turn on heat or air-conditioning to start the drying, especially if the flooding involves sewage. It can spread the contamination throughout your home, causing numerous other issues. We have special equipment for this situation and we will set up as soon as it is safe.

If you find yourself needing water restoration services, know we will be there to take good care of you. We will care for your home as we would our own. If you have questions, please give us a call at 316-721-4441.
